Is it required for an adult to be present during the assessment?

Yes an adult or a second person is required in order to take pictures of the examinees pencil grip and seating posture during the assessment, they are also required to supervise the assessment.

At what point can I decide whether or not to order a report?

You will be notified of the results of the assessment within the week. Depending on the results, the Occupational Therapist can advise you on whether or not your young person’s challenges are significant enough to apply for special consideration on this basis. Despite the advice of the therapist you are able to choose whether or not you would like a report.

What will the report contain?

The assessment report will contain a summary and interpretation of the results as well as key observations from the assessment. It will also contain recommendations based on the assessment results.

Do I need a referral from my child's teacher to complete this assessment?

Yes, in most cases it is your young person's teacher that will recommend the application for special exam arrangements when completing exams. If this is not the case please consult their teacher/school to see if they will be a suitable candidate for this assessment.
